Hey, thanks for visiting my blog! I’m Soham Dutta, a travel enthusiast from India. When I am not working my 9-to-5, I love exploring travel niches and exploring off-the-beaten-path adventures. Follow me as I document my journey and create FREE travel guides to help you explore this wonderful earth! This page talks about me – about how it all started and what do I plan to achieve via this blog.
How it all started

Back in 2015, I travelled abroad for the first time to Bali. The thing I loved most about the trip, apart from the trip itself, was the countless hours spent on planning for the trip – what to see, what to do, and what to eat. I realized that I was a compulsive travel planner. In 2016, while doing my MBA, the college presented me with an opportunity to lead the exchange program and organise the trip for the entire class. I jumped at it and loved the experience.
Over the years, I have travelled to over 14 countries and ensured that I travel whenever I manage to get a break from work. Moreover, I have helped countless colleagues and friends to plan their perfect itinerary and have their dream holidays.
What do I plan to achieve
Having returned from a trip to South-East Asia a week before the country went under lockdown due to COVID-19, I starting yearning for my next trip. However, given the current situation, I could barely make any travel plans for the near term. I decided to make the best of the time available with me and share travel ideas and tips based on my personal experiences with people who could make use of it. And what better way than to write a blog! Working from home gave me flexibility around managing my time and dedicate my efforts toward blog content creation. Also, I realized over the years that travel literature catering to Indians travelling abroad are far and few and if present, not always up-to-date. So this is what I wish to achieve with this blog:
- Create information, detailed, accurate, and up-to-date articles on travel around the world
- While catering to a global audience, enable Indian travellers to realize their dream of travelling abroad by including focused content for the Indian audience
- Focus on authentic, sustainable, off-the-beaten-track, and less-touristy experiences
- Share advice on the best cost-effective ways to travel and provide alternatives to expensive stays, tours, and experiences
Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoy reading the blog as much as I enjoy writing it. In case you have any comments, feedback, or simply wish to say Hi!, do drop me an email at [email protected] or fill in the contact form available in the Contact Page.
